Upon arrival, we suggest you shop for supplies. Hilo, a 45 min. drive, offers a full array of stores and services. Safeway and KTA foods, WalMart and many other shopping and dining opportunities abound. Closer to home, old Pahoa town is a 20 min. drive and also offers a wide array of food and services. The Malama Market is one of our favorites for foods and beverages and Pahoa also boasts a wonderful health food store. Open air markets abound in Pahoa and Hilo. Guests are responsible for stocking their own groceries and personal toiletries. Hale Balleja stocks bath soap, clothes detergent, dish washing soap and general cleaning supplies. Kalani Honua, a renowned eco-resort, is five minutes away and features a cafe and restaurant. Hula classes, massage, swimming and outdoor activities are available through Kalani Honua.
